Microsoft Excel Introduction (1 day)

Who Should Attend?

This course is suitable for complete beginners to Excel and candidates who are self-taught and feel that they may have ‘missed’ some of the short cuts to creating worksheets.

The course is entirely 'hands on', so delegates will get practice in creating and modifying actual spreadsheets.

Course Objectives:

To provide candidates with a basic understanding of the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet application.

The course contains a structured series of practical demonstrations and exercises that will include all the basic principles involved in creating worksheets.

At the end of the course delegates will be able to:

·    Load and unload the Excel application
·    Understand all the relevant screen information
·    Navigate through the worksheet
·    Create a new worksheet
·    Enter text, numbers and formulas into cells
·    Move and copy data within the worksheet
·    Understand the principles of calculations and the use of functions
·    Insert and delete columns and rows
·    Change column widths and row heights
·    Format the worksheet for visual impact
·    Produce printed output of their worksheet
·    Save the worksheet
·    Use the online Help facility

Course prerequisites:

Limited mouse and keyboard skills required
